Meet the Owner
Hey there, I’m Mary, an avid reader, aspiring baker, wannabe poet, and a proud pet parent. Although I was born and raised in Texas, I have lived many lives in many far away places through the magic of the written word, and it has always been a dream of mine to share that magic with as many people as possible (shout out to all my loved ones that have patiently listened to my extended literary rants).
I strongly believe that education is the highest form of protest in a world that is increasingly anti-intellectual. It is our duty, for current and future generations, to make information accessible to all and to make sure our voices are heard.
My love for books, and the enchanting worlds they create, has brought me to this exciting new chapter of my life that I get to carry out as the owner of the Understory Book Shop. I look forward to traveling far and wide with all of my fellow bibliophiles!
